Christina Scaglione of “Jersey Shore Massacre”

West Orange, New Jersey is known for their famous residents- Ian Ziering, Scott Wolf, and Mike Pitt, just to name a few.

Now you can add another name to the list- actress Christina Scaglione, star of the new movie “Jersey Shore Massacre“. Christina stopped by the #HipNJ Studios to talk with Lisa Marie Latino about her role and more!

“Jersey Shore Massacre” is horror comedy loosely based on the reality TV series “Jersey Shore”, and is executive-produced by one of the show’s stars, Jenni “JWoww” Farley.

After losing their Seaside Heights beach rental, “Teresa” and her girlfriends wind up in the Pine Barrens.   Unbeknownst to the group, a mentally deranged killer is out for their blood.  Christina plays “GiGi”, the innocent one of the group who “carries around a stuffed animal and is super-involved with her boyfriend.”

JSM is Christina’s first feature, and she enjoyed every aspect of the experience.  “Everything from the amazing crew to the red carpet experience was a dream come true.”

Christina isn’t the only talented Scaglione-  her brother, Dominic, played Frankie Valli in Broadway’s Jersey Boys!

“Jersey Shore Massacre” is available on iTunes, Amazon, and other online retailers.  You can also view on-demand: Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision, Direct TV, and Dish Network.

#HipNJWeddings: Justin Alexander Bridal

Did you know that one of the top wedding dress designers is located right here in #HipNJ?  In our latest #HipNJWeddings segment, we visited the showroom of Justin Alexander Bridal in Pine Brook!

#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino (who will be rocking a JA Signature dress at her upcoming September nuptials!) sat with creative director Terry Hilferty to talk about what every bride needs to know while shopping for the most important dress she’ll ever wear.

The #HipNJ bride is “sophisticated,” explained Terry.  Justin Alexander has found that the New Jersey bride gravitates to the finer laces or some other type of special treatment. Trending now is a cap sleeve or pop-over jacket to transform the dress, creating two different looks. What the #HipNJ bride wants, she gets!

No matter your style or budget, there are many lines to choose from.  Justin is the core line, portraying a vintage and timeless look. Signature is the higher-end line off of Justin, having more intricate detailing.  Sincerity features a girl-next-door feel that is effortless to wear.  While the Sweetheart is the most affordable line, it still upholds the same romantic character as her counterparts.  Finally, their newest line Lillian West features gowns that are simplistic yet sexy.

A current concern of the wedding industry are counterfeit dresses. These dresses are manufactured and sold out of  Asia.  Crooks are stealing Justin Alexander’s copyrighted images and posting them on their websites.  Thinking they are getting a beautiful bargain, horrified brides are receiving dresses that don’t come close to the quality that Justin Alexander and other reputable designers provide.

To ensure that the #HipNJ bride is getting her authentic Justin Alexander dress, please visit I Do…I Do… in Morristown, Jay West in Haddonfield, or a #HipNJ location near you.

Star Dog

Do you give a “shirt?”

Star Dog certainly does.  What started out as a small charitable concept is now a booming business helping children in need!

#HipNJ’s Kelly Dillon sat with the founder and owner of Star Dog, Denise Riccotti, to learn more about this stylish organization.

The company was born out of a clothing donation Denise made to an orphanage in Mexico.  The children were ecstatic when they received the brand-new garments, and asked if they could have dogs printed on the shirts.  Thus, a brand was born!

Star Dog’s shirts are made from pre-shrunk, soft spun cotton, and are available in all sizes.  #HipNJ charities that SD is affiliated with include The Valerie Fund’s “Camp Happy Times”; Your Grandmother’s Cupboard; Father English Center and many, many more.

When you purchase a shirt from Star Dog, they in turn donate one back one of their charities.  To pay it forward in a fashionable way, or to learn more about Star Dog, please visit their website.
