#HipNJRadio: Pat McGlynn

If you love our videos, then wait until you get a listen to our latest addition to the site, Hip New Jersey Radio!  #HipNJRadio will shine a spotlight on the greatest happenings and people in the Garden State.

Our first episode features 2015 WFAN Fantasy Phenom contest winner Pat McGlynn. McGlynn is a special education and history teacher at West Essex Regional High School in North Caldwell. Now the 35-year old is living out a lifelong dream of being a professional sports talk show host. Pat shares how much his life has changed since winning the highly-coveted contest.

The Fantasy Phenom Contest allows one winner to get a one-year contract to host a show on the station. Coached by Craig Carton of the morning show “Boomer and Carton,” McGlynn (known on air as Patty Mac!) gets to host his own sports talk radio show once a week.

Out of 300 contestants, the contest was narrowed down to six finalists. This year was McGlynn’s third year entering, but the first time he went further than the second round.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do…this contest provided that opportunity,” explained McGlynn.

Inspired by WFAN veteran Steve Somers, McGlynn debated transferring in college to achieve his aspiration. Now every Friday night between 1am and 3am, listeners can tune in as McGlynn lives out his dream.
