Holiday Hip List 2018: Paws Paws Miami

The Hip Lists Maria Falzo is here to tell you about her gift picks for the holidays!

Paws Paws Miami helps dogs, cats and piglets manifest their real personalities through clothing and accessories, for the extra happiness of their humans.

The pet boutique, which started as a kiosk in front of the ocean in Miami, just released its Christmas and Winter collections, available online.

“We get very meticulous about the designs we develop and the ones we curate. This jacket is no doublt the best one I have seen in the pet industry up to date” said the owner.

The “Upside Down” winter vest has a fur flap that can be used at the bottom legs, or at the neck for a more fancy look. It’s super light and it adjusts to the body for perfect comfort.

Holiday Hip List 2018: Aisha RTW

#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino recently met with Aisha, owner of Aisha RTW. The Aisha brand is based in NJ and consists of hand made, ready to wear dresses, coats, capes, scarves and handbags. The items are all made with fine Italian materials offering superior quality. Aisha explains that she completed her master’s in Italy and grew to love the Italian fabrics, which is why that’s all she uses for now.

“We want women to put on the dresses and feel amazing”, Aisha says.

These products are made for women who want to be comfortable, yet luxurious and fashionable. They are for women who want simplicity with a pop of pizazz. The versatility of the clothing appeals to just about any type of woman there is.

Aisha told Lisa, “When you feel amazing, you look amazing. Its not just about the dress, its about how you feel in the dress.”

This resonated with me because I’ve always been told, “When you look amazing, you feel amazing”, but I like the way Aisha puts it much better.  How you feel is more important than how you look. Anyone can throw on a beautiful dress and look extremely beautiful on the outside while feeling uncomfortable and self conscious on the inside.

Every woman should have at least one Aisha RTW item in their closet if they want to be comfortable, versatile and fashionable! For more information, visit AishaRTW.com.

Bullet Journaling

Have you ever heard of bullet journaling? No? Great! Bullet journaling is a simple and fun way to stay organized when trying to balance a very busy life. Bullet journaling was first created by Ryder Carroll who explained that a bullet journal is meant to “help you track the past, organize the present and plan for the future”.

I know you’re probably thinking to yourself, how will I have time to sit down and write in a journal? But I’m telling you, it only takes a few minutes! Don’t focus on your handwriting or drawing skills, just focus on the content. All you need is a pen/pencil and a journal!Your first journal will be more of an experiment. This is your chance to get comfortable with bullet journaling and developing your own style.

Step 1:

Create an index page. This will be like your reference page or table of contents to help you organize your journal and find certain pages easily.

Step 2:

Create logs. Daily logs: meetings, to-dos, reminders. Monthly logs: calendars and goal lists for the next 30 days. Future log: Think long-term goals.

Step 3:

Pick Signifiers. These will be the symbols you choose to use (bullets, dashes, circles, etc.) You can even use certain colors to organize as well.

Step 4:

Collections. These are lists of anything you want to remember for later: books, movies, friends, blog topics, self care tips, etc.

Step 5:

The last step is to make time for your book journal. Pick a time during the day that you want to dedicate specifically to bullet journaling. Check off items on your logs as you complete them. Write page numbers. Update your Index. Take time to reflect on the goals you’ve accomplished and those you still wish to.

It may seem like a lot at first but don’t think too much into it. This journal is all about you; to help you. Make it your own. You don’t even have to follow these steps, especially once you get the hang of it. Do what makes you the most comfortable. In the end, it should serve as your own hand made, personalized life organizer.
