NY Red Bulls Give Back to Youth in Underserved Communities

Amy Scheer, Chief Commercial Officer for the NY Red Bulls, and John Wolyniec, MetroStar/Red Bull alumni and head coach for the NY Red Bulls II, sat with Steve Adubato on “One-on-One” to discuss how their Urban Soccer Program is helping undeserved youth learn the game of soccer.

The New York Red Bulls Urban Soccer Program is an outreach initiative that serves urban communities in the tri-state area. Urban Soccer Programs are offered at no cost to organizations located in economically disadvantaged communities.

Summer camps, clinics, coach education workshops, player appearances and programming advice are some of the programs made available through this initiative. “We make sure we’re a good community partner,” Scheer states, “and that everyone has a chance to play and learn the right way.”

Keith Veltre on Hockey In New Jersey

Keith Veltre, Co-Founder and CEO of Hockey in New Jersey, sat with Steve Adubato on “One-on-One” to discuss the importance of providing life skills from healthy eating to tutoring and test prep to kids.

Founded in 2003, Hockey in New Jersey inspires youth to develop life skills, succeed academically and create positive relationships through the sport of hockey.

Veltre says that attendance in school is a major issue. “If you fall in love with hockey, that’s great,” Veltre states. “But if you start missing missing school…you can’t play hockey anymore.”
