The Paper Mill Playhouse of Millburn celebrated its 78th season with its annual Paper Mill Playhouse Gala, and #HipNJ was there for it all!
The Paper Mill Playhouse is a large regional theater known for staging shows, both new and old. It also serves as an established educational facility for aspiring actors.
Recently at the Hilton Short Hills, the Paper Mill team and guests gathered for a night of entertainment and celebration. Alongside #HipNJ, those in attendance included Paper Mill Board of Trustees member Carolyn Ferolito, Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken and Thomas Kean, the 48th Governor of New Jersey.
The gala was sold out (as it usually is!) making it Paper Mill’s largest fundraiser of the season. One major achievement that was celebrated was the successful adaption of “A Bronx Tale,” initially just a play, into a musical. Credit was given to the creative team, also in attendance, behind the production.
The Paper Mill Playhouse also recently announced that it has received a Tony Award for its successes as a regional theater. This was also recognized and the award will be presented to the playhouse at the Tony Awards on Sunday, June 12.
