New York Yankees Home Opener to Unveil Stadium’s New Dining Menu

In celebration of the upcoming baseball season and the New York Yankees home opener on Monday, April 2nd against the Tampa Bay Rays, #HipNJ is featuring the new menu offerings available to all fans at Yankee Stadium! In addition to improving creative ballpark favorites, the stadium continues to provide numerous social gathering spaces on all levels of the stadium for mingling and enjoying a few drinks.

Unique food and beverage options are developed for the purpose of enhancing the fan experience. Some interesting new options include Yankee Stadium Grand Slam Shakes, the vegan Beyond Sausage served on a pretzel roll from the Bareburger Stand, King’s Hawaiian Offerings featuring Kona BBQ Brisket Burnt Ends and Original Sweet Pineapple BBQ Kalua Pork Nachos and much more!

Social gathering locations remain the focus of stadium coordinators who have ensured that there is at least one on every level of the stadium. These include the Toyota Terrace overlooking the Yankee bullpen, the Budweiser Party Deck and the Kids Clubhouse. The newest of these spaces is the Blue Point Bleacher Bar that will be the exclusive distributer of NY Pinstripe Pilsner. Blue Point Brewery’s latest master creation, the NY Pinstripe Pilsner combines lime aroma with a crisp taste and is brewed with the Yankee fan in mind.

Anyone can enjoy the new offerings at Yankee stadium thanks to the teams continued effort to supply value-priced tickets for fans hoping to enjoy a game. Pinstripe passes will be available for purchase for just $15 and includes entry for standing room only and one drink (yes this include beer for guests 21 and over). $10 Grandstand level tickets are also available.

Be sure to book your tickets and satisfy your spring baseball fix!  Tickets may be purchased online at www.yankees.com

Green Initiatives at Yankee Stadium #EarthDay

Yankee Stadium is taking some ecologically intelligent measures to help promote a sustainable environment. #HipNJ is here to tell you all about them, just in time for Earth Day!

Stadium Construction

The structural steel used in construction of Yankee Stadium was fabricated from recycled material, and the concrete forms were reusable. Used recycled concrete aggregate was incorporated into the concrete design mix. All construction vehicles and equipment were required to use low-sulfur fuel. During construction, 75 percent of construction waste was diverted from landfills.

Sports Lighting

Prior to the 2016 Major League Baseball season, the Yankees installed light-emitting diode (LED) field lighting at Yankee Stadium, becoming just the second MLB stadium to use the state-of-the-art energy-efficient lighting system. These LED lights are 40% more efficient and 50% brighter than the previous field lighting at Yankee Stadium.

Composting and Recycling

Disposable cutlery and food-service packaging, including trays, boxes, plates and cups, are made of compostable materials instead of petroleum-based plastics. Food waste is composted and not landfilled, and cardboard, glass, metal, plastics and paper are recycled. Through the overall effort of fans and Stadium staff, approximately 85 percent of the Stadium’s total trash is diverted away from landfills.

Waste Cooking Oil

During the course of a typical season, more than 20,000 gallons of cooking oil from the Stadium are collected and recycled. This oil produces more than 18,600 gallons of biodiesel fuel, which when used in vehicles results in a carbon reduction of more than 30,000 pounds – the equivalent of removing approximately 27 cars from the road for a year.

Water Conservation

Each year, Yankee Stadium’s plumbing fixtures save about 3.1 million gallons of water while reducing the Stadium’s water consumption by 22 percent.
