“I don’t know why, but I’ve been seriously into brunch lately,” Di Falco states in the recipe’s accompanying blog. “I just think it’s such a fun and easy meal to celebrate with.” Add this delicious recipe, which makes five-six bundles, to your brunch menu.

Asparagus Bundles

1 group asparagus
4 oz. (6-8 slices) prosciutto
1 clove of garlic
black pepper
parmesan cheese – shaved

Cara Di Falco’s Favorite Spring Recipes

Cara Di Falco of Cara’s Cucina joined Lisa Marie Latino in the #HipNJ studio to talk all things Spring food!

Di Falco states that brunch becomes very popular this time of year. “With the weather getting nicer, people want to have that kind of social gathering,” she says. So, she gives us some delicious recipes for you to make at your next brunch party.

The first recipe is for Irish Soda Bread. “I have been told by viewers of Cara’s Cucina that this is the best Irish Soda Bread recipe they have ever had.” Check out the recipe here.

Grammy’s Pizza Gain
Makes 2 pies

pie crusts
1 1/2 lbs prosciuttini (peppered ham, ask the deli to slice it 1/4 inch thick)
pepperoni (ask the deli to slice it 1/4 inch thick)
3/4 sweet Italian sausage meat
2 basket cheese
8 eggs
1 c. ricotta
3/4 c. parmigiano cheese
pinch of baking powder

Ready, set, network! #HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino sat down with L’Oréal Drayton, founder of The Black Brunch NJ.

The Black Brunch NJ is a monthly networking brunch put on in order to allow New Jersey business owners and entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect and network with their professional peers. The event has an all-black dress code that allows for a mix of professionalism and elegance.

Of the benefits of business owners attending a The Black Brunch NJ gathering, Drayton said, “It allows for them to learn what’s going on in the industry and still stay within the legal guidelines.”

The inspiration for this was conjured up after a trip Drayton took to Atlanta. While there, she attended and hosted similar networking events and felt that the New York metropolitan area needed a similar event that brought attention to the local entrepreneurial skills. From there, The Black Brunch NJ was born.
