Amanda Amato on Interior Design

Amanda Amato, Interior Designer of AMA Designs and Interiors, LLC, sat with Joanna Gagis on “A Life & Living Moment” to discuss her unique approach to designing for each customer.

“I believe that your home should reflect your personality,” Amato says. When she does designs, they are the projection of the person she is working with.

“If a person is playful, I can tell that we can put some pattern and color into their space. If a person is calm, subdued colors would work better in their space,” she says. “I really pull from the vibe of the person.”

Interior Designer Blanche Garcia Shares Favorite NJ Projects

Blanche Garcia, Certified Interior Designer of B. Garcia Designs, sat down with Joanna Gagis on “Life & Living” to discuss her favorite New Jersey design projects.

Based in Montclair, B. Garcia Designs has done some terrific projects here in New Jersey. One of which being the student housing at Rutgers University.

Garcia was asked to design one of the student housings, which she describes as “a really beautiful project.” The developer wanted higher end finishes, and allowed Garcia to be creative.

“We wanted to elevate the experience for the students,” she says. “As far as student housing goes, that’s a place that I would’ve loved to stay.” The project is complete with a two-sided fireplace and a lounge, giving the building a modern and unique touch.

Garcia can be seen on Travel Channel’s Hotel Impossible, on which she helps give struggling hotels in hopes of reviving their businesses a makeover.
