Minette’s Angels Foundation is hosting their 2018 Celebration of Angels Gala on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at The Park Savoy in Florham Park. #HipNJ spoke with Jerry Rotunno, owner of The Committed Pig, about his involvement.
“I learned about the organization through a personal connection,” Rotunno said. “We built this business on investing our time, energy and money into people, and that is exactly what we pay forward with our investment into Minette’s Angels and into Kathy, Ken and their team.”
Rotunno was drawn to this organization because of Minette’s Angels’ specific initiatives.”When Minette’s Angels told me about some of their simple programs like their funding robes for patients at St. Barnabas and replacing old lymphoma compression sleeves with new ones, it was just something I automatically wanted to get behind.” He stated that making a difference in someone’s life is extremely important to him.
Rotunno’s business partner, Tony Monterio, lost his mother to cancer. “I never had the chance to meet her, but I can tell just from the way he speaks of her she was a wonderful woman,” he said. “He has one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen, as he told me ‘The loss of a mother can never be replaced, but the love of a mother can never be loss.’”
He ended by stating that they could not be more excited to get involved this year and for years to come. “It may not be a huge charity, but the difference it makes with the people it touches is huge,” he concluded.
