Stage Left Steak in New Brunswick is home to the state’s launch of The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey, and #HipNJ has the celebration details!
World-renowned Irish Whiskey Master Distiller Darryl McNally, of The Dublin Liberties Distillery, teamed up with Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, fellow Irishmen and co-founders of multi-award-winning bar, The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog, to create The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey.
Drawing its inspiration from the notorious Irish street gang, active in New York City in the mid- to late-1800s, The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey made its global debut in New York City in February 2018. Only 1,200 cases have been made available, distributed exclusively in NY and now NJ.
Stage Left Steak co-owner Francis Schott has deep roots in New Jersey’s Irish-American community and is celebrating the launch in a big way. Check out the information below!

On December 31st, New Brunswick will be home to the region’s most vibrant New Year’s celebration as The Restaurant Guys present the 9th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza.
A collaboration among the city’s hospitality and business communities and produced by Francis Schott and Mark Pascal — a/k/a The Restaurant Guys (owners of Stage Left Steak and Catherine Lombardi restaurants) — New Brunswick New Year’s Eve showcases the city’s prowess and pride as “the capital of Central New Jersey.”
Conceived by Francis and Mark in 2009 as a way for local restaurateurs to rally business during the depths of the Great Recession, what began as a modest event has helped make New Brunswick a holiday and cultural destination, fully funded by donations and sponsorships and drawing crowds of close to 5,000.Says Francis, “Our goal has been to be the opposite of a ‘First Night’ concept — we want to drive visitors into our bars and restaurants to generate business while showing off what a fun town we live and work in. We’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams!”
Spectacular fireworks, choreographed to music by world-champion Garden State Fireworks and shot from the roof of the Heldrich Hotel. Drinks specials at downtown restaurants and bars by event sponsors Taittinger Champagne, Hendrick’s Gin, Hudson Whiskey and Monkey Shoulder Scotch. DJ music in Monument Park. Extended hours at many establishments for a post-fireworks nightcap
11.30 pm ~ Monument Park, Livingston Avenue + George Street, New Brunswick, NJ Visitors are invited to explore dining and entertainment options pre- and post-fireworks — see list of participating venues at www.newbrunswicknewyearseve.com
