Hoyte says that the homeless demographic is changing drastically. “Years ago, the focus was on single men. Now, we’re seeing women with children, adolescent youth,” she says. “The people that are falling into homelessness are people like you and I.”
Can homelessness be one check away? “There are individuals that lose their jobs, and they don’t have enough savings to get them to their next paycheck,” Hoyte explains.” “That’s what catapults them into homelessness.”

Millburn Halloween Parade on October 30, 2016 from 11:00 am- 3:00 pm at Taylor Park in Short Hills. The Millburn Fire Department is hosting this years 66th annual parade. There will be hayrides, pumpkin picking and music throughout the day.
The Glow: A Jack O’ Lantern Experience on October 28 from 6:30- 10:00 pm, 29 from 6:30- 10:00 pm and 30 from 6:30- 9:30 pm at Monmouth Park Racetrack. This event includes pumpkin patch carvings, large structures and illuminates landmarks to rockstars and movie stars.
