Fundraising with Ferrari’s at George Press Jewlers

During Summer 2013, a select few got a chance to live a dream and drive a Ferrari at George Press Jewelers‘ “Fundraising with Ferraris”, all to support Parkinsons Disease research.

#HipNJ’s Gina Cerniglia got up-close to these magnificent vehicles, and spoke to the people who made it all possible.

This our fourth Ferrari event, and weve chose [to support] Parkinsons because Richard Stein, who is a client of ours, was diagnosed with Parkinsons seven years ago, said Cheryl Press of George Press Jewelers.  We actually let Richard choose which part of the Parkinsons affiliation that he wanted to donate to, and he selected the Unity Walk.

Richard Stein has been living with Parkinsons for the past seven years of his life, and was told five years ago he wont be able to drive, walk or work.  Not only is he still able to do all those things, but is making each day count by embracing life and buying Ferrari’s “in clumps.”  His five (!) models were on glorious display for the droves of supporters.

According to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, as many as one million people in the U.S. are living with Parkinsons.
