I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Ice Cream by Mike in Hackensack, the artisanal ice cream shop, is open again for the 2017 season. #HipNJ has the scoop on the home-made, high quality ice cream and toppings.
The shop was opened in July 2014 by owner, Michael Elias. He makes everything on the premises from scratch and in small batches. Elias had a truly successful year in 2016 when Ice Cream by Mike got major recognition. They were named one of the 10 finalists out of 275 nominations in “N.J.’s Best Ice Cream Shop Showdown” by NJ.com.
The way Mike makes his home-made ice cream is by using local farm fresh eggs and cream. Both classic and artisan flavors are crafted with Valrhona chocolate, pure Tahitian vanilla beans and fresh mint. Different flavors like Avocado and Toasted Ameretto Brittle have been a special on the menu. It also includes seasonal options when fresh ingredients become available, like strawberry and pumpkin. They have eight classics, including chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate pecan.
Customers can grab some ice cream at the shop located on 163 Main Street in Hackensack. Ice Cream by Mike is open seven days a week. Check out their business hours below:
