2019 Fashion for Compassion

2019 Fashion for Compassion

#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino went to the 2019 Fashion with Compassion for St. Joseph’s Health, where over 500 people came to show their support.

Vice President and Chief Development Officer of St. Joseph’s Health, Robert B. Budelman, said this was a great event for a good cause and an opportunity to raise money. Budelman loved that this event helped to ensure that they can provide care to every child no matter what the circumstances are.

Children from St. Joseph’s attended the event and were excited for the night. One of their patients, Juliette Sandoval, was thrilled to have the opportunity to win prizes.

Dolores Catania of the Real Housewives of New Jersey is a long time supporter of St. Joseph’s and has been loyal for years. She also donated items for this year’s event.

The funds raised from the event went towards medical care, surgical care, but also education, social services, and recreational therapy. Anything they can do to make it a less stressful environment for the kids and families, they try and do, says Kevin J. Slavin, President, and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health.

St. Joseph Health also helps with families, even if patients have passed away. Mother of a patient who passed away, Mary Ramsden, says St. Joseph Health is still supporting them years later and helping them with their grief.

Patient, Emmanuel Petty, says the same way that the hospital helped him, can help a lot more patients as well. Even just a small donation goes a long way and can make someone’s day.

Fashion with Compassion for St. Joseph Health sold out this year. The main goal was to network and get the word out. Most importantly, those within St. Joseph’s want to make others as passionate about the cause as they are.

Over $227,000 was raised to fund life-saving services for the children.
