Arcadia Earth’s Immersive Journey

Arcadia Earth’s Immersive Journey

Arcadia Earth is an augmented reality installation based in the heart of New York. With 15 rooms, this immersive journey will show the changes you can make in your daily life to protect our planet.

As described by Forbes, Arcadia Earth is a memorable, technology and art-filled experience. In collaboration with local environmental artists, founder Valentino Vettori, created this installation to depict the topic of sustainabilityThis visually stunning art experience is designed to inform and enlighten viewers on protecting the earth’s beauty.

Rooms consist of an underwater world, projection mapping, plastic bags, and microplastics. In the underwater rooms, guests enter a world where they are encountering animal life. Vettori wants to bring awareness on how people can protect animals, the environment, and use coral safe products. For the projection mapping rooms, guests are surrounded by projection screens to see how the ocean created oxygen and evolved to become the ozone layer, thus protecting us from UV rays.

One room emphasizes on the plastic bag waste issue. In New York alone, there are 23 billion plastic bags wasted a year, in other words that’s 64 million a day and 44,000 bags wasted per minute. Thus, this room is made of 44,000 plastic bags to show how much that actually is and the impact it has. There’s also a room showing microplastics, which are found in the water, air, and fish. Vettori tells us that we are even consuming these microplastics!

Arcadia Earth partnered with TENCEL, which is a fiber used to preserve the environment. Vettori explains how TENCEL is made from sustainable sourced wood, then it is environmentally processed to create something soft and beautiful.
