Beth Nydick, co-author of Clean Cocktails, joined #HipNJ for an interview in which she demonstrated one of her delicious recipes. Clean Cocktails specializes in delivering “Righteous Recipes for the Modernist Mixologist.”
In Clean Cocktails, Beth and co-author Tara Roscioli “bring a clean-living mindset to craft mixology.” They use fresh juices, sweeteners like honey and maple syrup, and anti-inflammatory spices like cinnamon, cayenne, and turmeric to make unique and healthy cocktails that you can enjoy.
Beth likes to focus on ingredients with health benefits. She delighted us with her Berry Cocktail, a guilt-free alcoholic beverage made from different seasonal fruits and spices. The beverage was made from blueberries that provided a beautiful color to the drink; honey, freshly squeezed lemon and lime juice, vodka and seltzer.
In other recipes, Beth Nydick uses ginger, cilantro, and even vodka, all of which have health benefits like boosting your metabolism. She also gets creative with mixers like kombucha and iced tea.
During her interview, Beth also gave us some useful tips on how to perfect our bartending skills: “I say all the time, when your hands are too cold to hold the shaker, that’s when it’s done.”
Be sure to buy Clean Cocktails, Beth Nydick’s book of recipes, to practice some of her tasty cocktails and have a good time.
