Lisa Marie Latino had 1010 WINS radio traffic reporter and aspiring beauty blogger Carissa Abraham in the #HipNJ studio to talk about her incredible radio career and newly realized love of everything skincare. Carissa dishes out the reality check everyone needs to hear about keeping skin healthy and maintaining a youthful glow!
Before Carissa began her passionate skincare journey, she first cultivated her successful radio career. She started out as a DJ during her undergrad years at Seton Hall where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting. She went on to land a job with the iHeartMedia, Inc. subsidiary Total Traffic & Weather Network. Her connections here helped her land a job as a substitute traffic reporter and an eventual full-time spot at Z100, New York’s #1 Hit Music Station.
Carissa’s impressive professional career is just one aspect of her resume. She is using her personal love of skincare to start a beauty blog focusing on maintenance and makeup. Her passion began when she noticed her own skin in need of some TLC. She used home remedies and facial mask treatments at first but eventually sought the help of a licensed aesthetician.
After receiving microdermabrasion treatments, Carissa realized how important it is to devote funds to treating bad skin. “Your skin is an investment” she says, “and it’s probably the best investment I’ve ever made!”. Carissa endorses starting treatments early and using quality makeup, like vegan and cruelty-free brands, to maintain fresh results.
See Carissa demo her homemade hair mask made from shea butter and coconut oil. The mask will keep your hair healthy through the dry, unforgiving winter months. It’s so important that you keep your hair clean and toxin-free any time of the year!
