Hip New Jersey spotlights the businesses and communities that are making the Garden State fabulous!

#HipNJ recently spent the day at Morristown‘s Cosy Cupboard Tea Room with the fine ladies of Daycationtoday!

Daycationtoday gives busy moms and working women the opportunity to relax and socialize while exploring great #HipNJ communities!

“Daycationers” enjoy spa treatments, fitness classes, cooking lessons, excursions, lectures, make-up, hair and beauty sessions, plus tons of other activities.

Founder and CEO Debra Olshan Cooper explained to #HipNJ’s Kelly Dillon on why she started the organization: “I just wanted an hour to myself, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.  Daycationtoday gives like-minded women an opportunity to, once a month, take a break from their everyday routine.”

Daycationtoday is a membership-only service that opens the door to amazing opportunities you may not know about in Livingston, Millburn, Summit, Short Hills, Madison, Montclair, Morristown, South Orange, West Orange, New Providence, Berkeley Heights, Westfield, Garwood and other nearby destinations.  In 2015, daycationtoday is looking to expand their destinations nationwide.

Pour and Pedal Wine Tour

Looking for something fun to do on the weekend? Enjoy long bike rides and wine? Well look no further because #HipNJ has its very own Pour and Pedal Wine Tour!

#HipNJ’s Sam Selvaggio is in Ringoes, NJ with the Pour and Pedal owners. Owner Lou DeMartino tells Sam the Pour and Pedal business actually has 4 locations, 2 in NJ and 2 in NY! Lou tells #HipNJ the bike tours started with their partners Jay and Jenny from NY. They wanted something fun to do and it to be an all inclusive experience. Most people don’t even know there are over 40 vineyards just in NJ so they thought a bike tour would be a great idea!

One employee Frank Susino has been working for Pour and Pedal for 3 years now. He says he loves biking so getting to bike and have fun at the same time is a great job to have! Sounds like fun!

Pour and Pedal holds many different events from corporate events and team building to bachelorette parties and even 60th birthday parties! They even plan  to expand and open a location out in Michigan. By 2015 they hope to start this and will expand from there!

Bari Studio

#HipNJ was at Bari Studio, which was named “NYC’s Best Hybrid Workout” by New York Magazine and one the “Best Places to Work Out in 2014” by Harper’s Bazaar.

Bari is a cutting-edge approach to working out, and their hybrid method combines sensory dance cardio, trampoline cardio and muscle sculpting to produce visible results in record time.

Twenty-eight year old Alexandra Bonetti Perez developed bari in 2011 when she left her finance job and decided to take her fitness routine into her own hands.   The Wharton grad combined her passion for entrepreneurship and the power of exercise to build Bari Studio and everything it stands for. Alexandra’s vision of the fitness industry is revolutionary and driven by her customer experience over the years. She knew fitness could be – and should be – a lifestyle brand; this vision for an inclusive space for nutrition, culture, art and a true community has become the backbone of bari.

“This workout was absolutely amazing,” gushed Amy Selling of Lulu and Lattes.  “It was a full-body experience from head to toe, and I’m absolutely coming back, especially for the trampoline!”

Bari’s private training schedule caters entirely to their clients, and their class schedule varies day to day, ranging from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Bari’s classes are open to all fitness levels.

Bari Studio is located at 463 Springfield Avenue, Summit (right of Weight Watchers).  For more information, visit
