Puppy Costume Parade + Family Fall Festival!

As you all know, halloween is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than attending the Long Branch Fall Festival and Pooch Parade! This is an event for the WHOLE family to enjoy, puppies included! It will take place at Pier Village, along the oceanfront boardwalk on Saturday, October 27th

Although the costumed puppies will definitely be the highlight of the event, there will be activities for the rest of the family to enjoy as well! The Festival will include bouncy rides, a costumed puppy parade, arts and crafts, touch a truck, craft vendors, a kids costume parade, Fresh Farmers and Makers Market, shopping, food and drink specials at local restaurants, and more!  A DJ will be present as well, along with costumed characters!

You will also be able to take the kiddies trick or treating throughout the shops of Pier Village and their Chamber of Commerce trailer and the Bungalow Hotel! They’ll love the idea of early trick or treating! The Pooch Parade will begin at 12pm, with the line-up happening at 11:30am. The Kids Costume Parade will begin at 2pm. The entire festival will go on from 11am-4pm

This is a cute and fun event for families or even groups of friends. Pier Village is looking to break last year’s 400-person record, and we know they can with #HipNj‘s help!

See you there!

Friday The 13th at Blairstown Museum

By: Maria Fernandez

No matter the age, everyone is familiar with the Friday the 13th film series. What people may not know is that the original movie was filmed in parts of Hardwick and Hope! Additionally, the camp scenes were filmed at the Boy Scout Camp and Camp No Be Bo Sco (in Hardwick). In honor of Friday the 13th the Blairstown Museum is hosted a Friday the 13th celebration.

Visitors were able to purchase tickets for a 3 hour trolley tour or VIP dinner event, and have the opportunity to meet Robbi Morgan and Steve Dash. Robbie played “Annie” in the first movie, and Steve was the first adult Jason as portrayed in the second film.

Blairstown, and the local museum, celebrate every Friday the 13th so if you couldn’t make it this year there’s always next year. Entry to the museum is always free and Blairstown, in general, is a quaint and scenic little town to visit. As a special treat, Mrs New Jersey International Parker Sanchez was leading one of the tours.
