#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino sat down with fellow author Diane Turton of Diane Turton Realtors at the #HipNJ studio to talk books, careers, and the incredible journey of her sign.
Diane earned her real estate license and started a business out of her garage at an impressive 19 years old. Today, she has networked her way to the President and Founder of Diane Turton Realtors, which holds 16 offices from Rumson to Long Beach Island. Diane shares with Lisa Marie how you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.
Diane’s incredible journey is featured in her book, “Always Connecting: How I Built My Business and Navigated the Signs to Success,” but her own story was not the only one to influence her. In 2012 during Hurricane Sandy, a sign for Diane Turton Realtors was blown away in the storm and years later washed up on the shores of Bordeaux, France.
An Oceanographer who studies the drift of floating objects determined that the sign had likely traveled the same route as Christopher Columbus…it may have been on it’s third crossing of the Atlantic when it beached 3,595 miles away in France. Since then, the sign and Diane have been reunited. The sign’s story inspired Diane to share her own powerful story and how she used the sign’s journey as a metaphor for her life.
