Personal stylist Elysha Lenkin is on a mission; she wants to deliver styling tricks that have you feeling GREAT in your clothes so you stop fussing with what you’re wearing, and start LOVING how you look!
Elysha brought her knowledge to the #HipNJ studio and chatted with our Lisa Marie Latino about how to dress for your body type. Using Lisa Marie as her muse, Elysha offered tips on how to dress an hourglass figure.
You have an hourglass body shape if your bust and hips are about the same width, and you have a defined waist. While some hourglasses may gain weight evenly through their bodies, others may find it goes to their bust, hips or thighs.
To highlight these super feminine curves, it’s important to “highlight your waist and balanced proportions,” explains Elysha. “This is accomplished by wearing V-necks, scoop necks and boat necks or tailored jackets that nip in at the waist.”
One surprising tip was to play up horizontal lines. “Strategically placing horizontal lines can help draw the eye towards the upper body and away from the lower body.”
