Maria Falzo of #HipNJ met George Duran, a celebrity chef, at the Folios™ kitchen. During Maria’s visit, George explained how one can turn Folios® Cheese Wraps™ into crispy shells.
Folios® Cheese Wraps™ are circular sheets of cheese that can be used to create delicious snacks, desserts, dinners, etc. Cheese has less carbs than bread or tortilla rolls, so Folios® Cheese Wraps™ are a nice alternative to use when making a wrap, taco, or quesadilla.
If you heat the cheese wrap up in the microwave for a few seconds, you can mold it into any shape you want. You can shape it into a bowl to create a mini taco salad, or you can fold it over to create a taco shell for a taco or a quesadilla.
(You’ll have to adjust the time depending on the strength of your microwave, and once you remove the cheese from the microwave, you’ll have to shape it before it completely hardens.)
George and Maria created a steak quesadilla using a cheddar cheese wrap. After heating the cheese up, they quickly applied some guacamole. Then they quickly added some onions and skirt steak. Once the ingredients were in place, George folded the cheese over and allowed it to finish hardening. Then they added some salsa and started eating.
