Folios® Cheese Wraps™ are thin sheets of parbaked cheese. They can be used to create all kinds of snacks. They’re low in carbs, making them an excellent substitute for bread or tortilla rolls. They’re also gluten-free and lactose-free.
“People – sometimes – they’ll call us and ask, ‘How could it be lactose-free if it’s cheese?’ Well, fresh cheeses have lactose, but aged cheese – if it’s over three months old – the cheese, lactose is gone,” Chris explained.
During her visit, Maria helped Chris create an Italian Panini Roll Up using a mozzarella cheese wrap (“totally Italian”).
First, Maria spread some creamy Italian dressing on top of the cheese wrap. Next, she placed some prosciutto on top of the dressing. She then spread some arugula on top of the prosciutto. After laying a second cheese wrap on top of the prosciutto, Maria added some mortadella, salami, and roasted peppers. Once all the ingredients were in place, Chris slowly rolled Maria’s work up. He then cut the roll into small, circular pieces that resembled sushi (“Italian sushi”).
Chris’s wife, Mary Ann Lotito, previously taught Maria how to make a California Chicken Club Fold Over using Folios® Cheese Wraps™; and celebrity chef George Duran taught Maria how to make a steak quesadilla using Folios® Cheese Wraps™.
