With social distancing still so important, we’re lucky to live in the age of online ordering! Delivery giant goPuff has opened its newest NJ branch in Union City, bringing safe services with them.
GoPuff is an online platform delivering everything from groceries and snacks to cleaning supplies and medicine. Founded in 2013, the service now has delivery headquarters nationwide—and reaches far beyond college campuses.
After beginning service in New Brunswick and Cherry Hill in 2018, the platform’s expansion to Union City broadens its reach in the Garden State. Since launching there in July, goPuff’s team says local response has been encouraging.
“GoPuff is popular with anyone who seeks more time and convenience in their lives,” said Elizabeth Romaine, Director of Communication for goPuff. “Reception in Union City has been great so far, and we’re excited to continue delivering to more customers in the area.”
During the pandemic, Romaine says goPuff has noticed an uptick in requests for staples like eggs and flour, as well as items like toilet paper. In New Jersey, hand sanitizers, headache medicine, and chocolate rank among the most-desired items.
In addition to creating jobs, goPuff’s team hopes to help New Jersey social distance. With no-contact delivery, customers in the Garden State can have more control over when they have to leave home.
Similarly, goPuff requires all employees to follow health guidelines. By providing staff and drivers with PPE—and regularly disinfecting vehicles and facilities—the platform aims to keep the supply line safe.
GoPuff is even throwing its weight behind the front lines, dedicating $1 million to support hospital workers. With a matching fund, they hope to raise another $1 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs’ COVID-19 Relief Fund.
