The Connie Dwyer Breast Center is poised for a big 2017!
The amazing #HipNJ charity has announced that they have established the Connie Dwyer Breast Center Foundation. Further, they are working with the equally fabulous Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth to build a second Connie Dwyer Breast Center. At their recent Embrace Hope gala at The Grove, the foundation raised $395,000 towards their efforts.
“There is still much work to be done to meet the ever-increasing needs of the community,” says Connie Dwyer, founder of the Breast Center. “Establishing this foundation creates a future that embraces hope for those in need.”
Eleven years ago, the Connie Dwyer Breast Center was established in Newark. Through education and outreach programs, the Connie Dwyer Breast Center has increased its patient volume over a ten year period from 4,500 procedures to 20,000 in Year Ten. The Breast Center provided state-of-the-art breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment.
This proud tradition will now be serving patients at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, and Union County’s #1 hospital couldn’t be more thrilled.
“The women of our community are most definitely in need of comprehensive breast care such as that offered by the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation,” says Gary Horan, President/CEO of Trinitas Regional Medical Center. “I look forward to a rewarding partnership – one that will save and improve many lives!”
“I know I speak for all of us at Trinitas when I say that we’re very excited about the dramatic impact we will have on women’s health in the Greater Elizabeth Community,” added Nadine Brechner, Executive Director of the Trinitas Health Foundation. “Many women simply cannot afford preventative care, and worse, many do not undergo needed treatment because of the cost. Connie Dwyer removes all those barriers.”
