Jen Tripucka, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Hobokengirl.com, visited Lisa Marie Latino in the #HipNJ studio to discuss her inspiration for creating the site.
On New Year’s five years ago, Tripucka decided that she wanted to explore her city. “There’s no place to go where you can find out all the fun things to do in Hoboken,” she said. To remedy this problem, “[she] decided to start writing about it.”
Furthermore, what started out as a personal journey for herself became lifestyle website with 20 contributors! “Over five years, it grew a ton,” she recalled.
In addition, businesses began reaching out to be featured as the site grew! Not only this, but Tripuka’s increased success inspired her to begin work on Montclairgirl.com and Asburygirl.com!
Even further, readers began to go to Tripuka for advice on ways to improve their community. In response to this, Tripucka started Hoboken Girl Helps, a new volunteering program for Hudson County residents!
