Jason Barbanel, owner of JK productions, came to the #HipNJ studio to tell Lisa Marie Latino about how to keep the party going during your New Year’s party.
JK productions is a DJ-based business. Barbanel has worked at Bar and Bat Mitzvah, weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties and kids parties. Barbanel provides music, but he also provides lighting, stages, photobooths, games and fun accessories.
“On New Year’s, you want everything that lights up; some rings, some glasses,” Barbanel said.
As a Master of Ceremonies (or “MC”), Barbanel’s job is to create a “timeline”, to know what to play and when to play it.
“People can’t dance four hours straight,” Barbanel said. “So, you have to have something going on at all times, so a good timeline makes the night great.”
Barbanel has done work with Mix and Mingle, an event-planning business.
“Jason Barbanel is just awesome. If you want to have a party that’s so high-energy, he is your guy,” Brooke Poller of Mix and Mingle said. “He creates the ultimate playlist, and he’s an unbelievable MC, so he’ll get everybody on the dance floor and having fun.”
Mix and Mingle has allowed Barbanel to meet new clients and other party-planners.
“It’s good to work with people that understand what you do and put you in the right position to succeed,” Barbanel said. “So, we help each other out in a lot of different aspects.”
