Turning a $500 loan into a billion-dollar fashion brand, Kendra Scott is a story of true inspiration and enduring entrepreneurial spirit. Kendra, a single mom living in Texas with two boys, started making jewelry for her friends and herself before realizing that she could do this for others as well! Combining her creative talent and tenacity, she designed her first collection in 2002 and went store to store selling jewelry out of her wooden tea box!
Nordstrom was the first retailer to carry the Kendra Scott brand, and the business journey kept moving upwards from there! Having expanded into Texas, Midwest and London, Kendra Scott is ready to enter the Northeast region, opening its first retail store in New Jersey at Short Hills Mall.
Our Alex Lee talks to Rachel Tortorella, the store’s assistant manager, about the company’s decision to expand into Northeast, and their product lines including fabulous collections of fine jewelry and signature-scented candles!
Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy – the three core values that have guided the company since its inception in how they operate and give back to the community. To learn more about Kendra Scott, and its full collection of products, visit them online or on Instagram.
