Liz Samuel, actress and creator of the hilarious series ‘Momtress’ stopped by the #HipNJ studio to talk to Lisa Marie Latino about her show and career.
Momtress is an award winning scripted video series that based loosely around Liz’s life. In the show Liz’s character is a mom and also an actress. The story line goes through what it’s like to balance a career, and her children. As the series goes on Liz’s character learns to deal with some tough situations.
Some of these tough situations are about losing a parent, dealing with aging, and just decisions that any mom would have to face if she is trying to juggle a career and also be a good mother.
The show actually premiered right here in New Jersey at the Montclair Film Festival. The original pilot was a short film, until they realized that this needed to be filmed with more episodes. They decided to continue filming and film a mini series and created 4 more episodes. All of this being completely self-funded.
Even though the show is done filming as of now, Liz has written plenty of scripts to continue the series which she hope one day she can do.
Liz is a full time actress who is currently working on a lot of different shows such as a New NBC series called ‘Link and Rhyme Hunt for the Bone Collector’.
