What is your favorite local restaurant?
I would have to say Vanillamore in Montclair. Full disclosure, it’s owned by a dear family friend and I work there on weekends! But the food is awesome and everything Chef Risa Boyer has done to create a complete dining experience for her customers is awesome!
What is your favorite local boutique?
I would have to say South Moon Under. I believe there’s a few of them, but I just love the one in Montclair. The clothes are cute, they fit well and the staff is always so sweet and helpful!
What is your favorite salon or spa?
I actually go to the city for my hair – Devachan Soho. They just give the best curly haircut around. I only go every 6 months.
Where is your favorite local daytime hangout?
Vanillamore, Mish Mich, Le Salbuen, Creativity Cafe, Salute, The Corner…anyplace with good food and a good vibe – you will likely find me sitting having a meeting!
What is your favorite “Made in Jersey” product?
Tomatoes! Yes, that is a super weird answer – but this state grows the best damn tomatoes on the planet! I can’t wait to grab some Jersey Fresh tomatoes this Summer (along with all the other amazing food we grow here!)
What is your favorite New Jersey downtown district?
Church Street in Montclair – it’s cute, great shopping, great restaurants, plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by – and it’s walking distance from my house!
What is your favorite New Jersey-based service business?
As a video production company – we’re at Unique Photo a lot! They have all the gear we need and are always willing to work with us to fit our budget and task!
How has COVID-19 affected your business?
Cancelled events – including postponing my biggest, a 10-day culinary tour of Italy. Keeping my fingers crossed we’re able to operate Summer Camp! Thankfully the online portion of my business is doing well as people are looking for fresh content and ideas of things to do/cook at home!
