Ivana and Marija Curic are identical twin sisters who after modeling and working in fashion, started their own eco-friendly fashion line called Curic&Curic. Their goal is to minimize waste and maximize the use of vintage pieces. They grew up in Croatia, but now reside in Hoboken, New Jersey. Today they shared their Local Love with HipNewJersey.com!
What is your favorite local restaurant?
Stingray in Hoboken. It’s an amazing restaurant with fresh seafood. The ambiance gives us West Village, NYC vibes.
What is your favorite local boutique?
Mint Market in Hoboken. It is an amazing little place with super chic clothes and a vintage section. The owner is super nice and really cares about her costumers.
Where is your favorite local daytime hangout?
German Bakery in Hoboken! It’s a great hidden gem with authentic German desserts. The owner makes you feel like you just entered his living room and he really cares about his customers.
What is your favorite New Jersey downtown district?
Definitely the Hoboken waterfront! We enjoy a casual walk and sometimes like to sit on a bench to admire Manhattan’s view. We also like to relax at one of the waterfront bars while eating buffalo wings and fries.
What is your favorite New Jersey-based service business?
We love Devon Cass, who is a makeup artist and performer. He is just amazing! He can be booked for performances and his Cher impersonation is absolutely amazing.
What is your favorite “Made in Jersey” product?
We like to support any art or music festival in Hoboken. Whenever there’s a festival with local businesses, we like to go and buy from those stands. We are always on the lookout for a new painting or art piece. We also love to read The Hoboken Girl Blog.
How has COVID-19 affected your business?
We are an online-based business. Our designs are exclusively offered on our website. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we do have a decline in orders, but we are still in business. We had to make adjustments, as we can not get to our showroom. We had to create a temporary studio in our apartment in Hoboken. It is challenging, but we make it fun and exciting.
