What is your favorite local restaurant?
A shameless plug would be for our family’s restaurant Peter’s of Millburn in Millburn, New Jersey. We obviously eat from here a lot pre and post-pandemic. The restaurant is strictly takeout now and doing online ordering directly from the website as well as curbside pick up, no contact delivery and door dash. My other favorite spot is Lombardi’s Pizzeria in Cedar Grove. They are doing the most delicious and fun pizza kits for the kids. They love to make em, bake em, and eat em up!
What is your favorite local boutique?
When this horrific time of no retail therapy lifts, I am headed straight to NO. 18 in Summit. They have the best signature pieces and accessories. If you are looking for the fashion 411 right now head to their Instagram page and check out Bre the owner.
What is your favorite salon or spa?
I am holding out for my one and only Nick and Charley at Anthony Garubo Salon in Maplewood. Although life has stopped my regrowth has not and I am longing for the day when we are together again soon.
What is your favorite local health and wellness center?
After this is all over I am certain to stop in to see Chambers Center for Health and Wellness in Morristown for a trilogy. A trilogy is a cryotherapy session, infrared sauna session, and a salt sauna session. This does your body and mind good!
Where is your favorite local place for home decor?
Spending all this time at home has me longing to redecorate my bedroom and living room. Two of my favorite spots for unique home decor pieces are A. Home and Great House in Summit. You can get perfect pieces for your spaces and also unique hostess gifts for that visit you will be taking (hopefully soon) to your best friend’s house. Visit these awesome shop owners when we are all commingling again.
Where is your favorite local daytime hangout?
Hands down my favorite spot to be first thing in the morning is Orange Theory Fitness in Totowa. I miss my squad so much. Their at-home workouts have been great and it’s great to see everyone so connected on social to keep each other motivated. For the kiddos check out My Gym in West Orange. On their Facebook page they have home classes as well as music classes for the kids by Rockness Music every day at 10 AM!
What is your favorite local place to do business?
I am missing my office away from home, Cedar Beans in Cedar Grove. Dave the owner makes me a Matcha Oat Milk Latte with agave every morning and I grab the gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free brownie for a treat in the afternoon. I miss Matcha.
What is your favorite “Made in Jersey” product?
So one of my new favorite spots to get the most unique gifts for kids is Just a Dream in Livingston. They can make or personalize just about anything.
What is your favorite New Jersey downtown district?
Did I mention Summit 500 times yet? It is the perfect mix of fashion, food, fun, and fabulous people.
What is your favorite New Jersey-based service business?
We are loving Arts & Creations Pottery Studio in Woodland Park. You can hop right on their Facebook page and pick some pottery for the kids. Then they will deliver it to your door complete with paint, brushes, and at least an hour of fun.
How has COVID-19 affected your business?
As a professional in public relations and special events, being social is my business. Not having a human connection has been a challenge for all. Being a natural connector of great people, fun places, and fabulous things this is a tough spot to be in and I am not quite ready or willing to accept this as a “new normal”. Right now, events are canceled and we are challenged with looking for new ways to be connected and stay connected.
