#HipNJ spoke with Lynette Barbieri and Vanessa Coppes, founders of ETTWomen and the ETTWomen Foundation, on the inspiration and mission of their organization.
ETTWomen was founded in 2012 when the pair decided to partner up and change the name of Barbieri’s existing organization so that it could be more inclusive to women.
What is the mission of ETTWomen? “We educate and empower women to pursue their passions and their dreams.” ETTWomen encourages personal and professional development for women of all walks of life. “You can’t have one without the other.”
“We offer individual mentoring sessions and biweekly workshops on personal development or business development.” Women come needing support in a specific area, and help is provided.
Now that ETTWomen has its own foundation, they are able to support individual cases that maybe slipped through the cracks of other organizations. Just recently, they were able to help a woman who found herself homeless.
The pair wants women to leave them feeling that they have a support system. “Maybe you can save someone else from making a business mistake that you made. That sharing of stories sand knowledge is what helps people realize they are not building a business alone. There is a community of women who have been through it and want to share.”
