José Eber Salon NJ in Millburn proved why its namesake is the “Vanguard of Beauty!”
I recently underwent a hair transformation under the tutelage of world renowned celebrity stylist, José Eber. During our consultation, José proclaimed that he wanted to see me with “lots of sexy layer,” which I wholeheartedly agreed with. He then divulged his plans to brighten up my dark brown locks, which left me a bit weary.
“What’s wrong?” José asked.
“I’ve never touched my hair color before,” I admitted. “Not even a highlight.”
His eyes grew wide. “You’re a hair virgin?!”
“Yes I am,” I sheepishly admitted.
José smiled wildly. “Well then, let me take your V Card!”
Without hesitation, I agreed to José’s vision. After all, this is the legend who invented the iconic “Farrah Fawcett” cut and counts Elizabeth Taylor, Cher, Barbara Walters, Goldie Hawn, Jaclyn Smith and a myriad of others among his A-List Hollywood clientele. I’ve succumbed to lesser men in my life!
Our strategy plotted, I was whisked away to José Eber Salon’s wash bar. Getting shampooed has always been my favorite part of the hair salon experience, but JENJ takes it up another ten notches. Between the motorized recliner and the ten-minute scalp massage, I was in a state of zen I hadn’t reached in ages.
From there, I was warmly greeted by José Eber Salon’s Creative Director, Yoav Tauber, who was tasked by his Uncle José to deliver the hair of my dreams. Yoav boasts his own amazing resume, working with the likes of Katharine Mcphee, Carmen Electra, Helen Mirren, Annie Lenox and one of my favorite people on the planet, Kelly Clarkson. As Yoav’s scissors expertly crafted the long layers (and while I sipped a complimentary cappuccino), I learned about his interesting life and career that has spanned the globe.
After the cut met Yoav’s lofty expectations, it was time for my first ever color treatment with JENJ Color Director, Michael Dapuzzo. Michael’s gentle demeanor immediately put any fears I had at ease. He used hand painting, otherwise known as Balayage, for my custom Ombre highlights.
Once the color settled in, I was treated to another coma- inducing scalp massage to wash out the remnants of product. Then it was time for the final act- a luxe blowout using José Eber’s world class curlers and hair dryer!
The final result blew me away. The color was perfect and the cut was EXQUISITE. I literally wanted to cry when I saw my reflection in the mirror; I never had hair like this!
