Today is every bookworms favorite day. August 9th marks International Book Lovers Day! Be sure to put some time aside and relax with a great book in your hands. Here are some famous authors from #NewJersey to help you celebrate.
1. Judy Blume, Elizabeth
Blume is best known for her children and young adult fiction works. Some of her most famous books include Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Blubber, and Forever. Children will especially love her humorous Fudge books. The Fudge series consists of five comical books that will surely get your children laughing: Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Otherwise Known As Sheila the Great, Superfudge, Fudge-a-Mania, and Double Fudge.
2. Harlan Coben, Newark

All the mystery and thriller genre lovers out there will absolutely adore Coben. Most of his novels consist of suspenseful elements such as murders, unsettled conflict and deadly accidents. All these thrills mixed in with unexpected turns throughout his works will certainly keep you at the edge of your chair while reading. Here are some of his recommended titles: Tell No One, Gone For Good, No Second Chance, Play Dead, and Missing You.
3. Edna Buchanan, Paterson
Buchanan is chiefly known for her novels associated with crime and mystery. She won a Pulitzer Prize for Journalism and graduated Montclair State University. For all the mystery lovers out there, here are some of her top books: The Corpse Had a Familiar Face, Act of Betrayal, You Only Die Twice, and Love Kills.
4. Holly Black, West Long Branch

Widely known for writing The Spiderwick Chronicles, Black is particularly appealing to those who admire fantasy books. If you are a fan of fantasy, be sure to check out her trilogy called Modern Faerie Tales.
5. Sandra Boynton, Orange
Boynton, both a writer and illustrator, has written books that are enjoyable by both adults and children. In addition to books, Sandra has also written greeting cards and musical albums. Here are some of her titles that have been added to New York Times best sellers list: Chocolate: The Consuming Passion, Yay, You!, Consider Love, and Philadelphia Chickens.
