On December 31st, New Brunswick will be home to the region’s most vibrant New Year’s celebration as The Restaurant Guys present the 9th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza.
A collaboration among the city’s hospitality and business communities and produced by Francis Schott and Mark Pascal — a/k/a The Restaurant Guys (owners of Stage Left Steak and Catherine Lombardi restaurants) — New Brunswick New Year’s Eve showcases the city’s prowess and pride as “the capital of Central New Jersey.”
Conceived by Francis and Mark in 2009 as a way for local restaurateurs to rally business during the depths of the Great Recession, what began as a modest event has helped make New Brunswick a holiday and cultural destination, fully funded by donations and sponsorships and drawing crowds of close to 5,000.Says Francis, “Our goal has been to be the opposite of a ‘First Night’ concept — we want to drive visitors into our bars and restaurants to generate business while showing off what a fun town we live and work in. We’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams!”
