#HipNJ: The Iron Shaker

R&R Marketing and New Jersey Monthly staged a #HipNJ cocktail competition for the ages!

On October 9th, the Garden State’s best mixologists faced off at Trump Taj Mahal for the Iron Shaker finale.  Participants included John Jansma of Restaurant Serenade (Chatham); Jonas Koep of Stone House (Warren); Matt Brown of Pig and Prince (Montclair); Rob Sorenson of Lefty’s Tavern (Barnegat); Lenny Schafer from The Iron Room (Atlantic City); Steve Fette from Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club (Bedminster); Shawn Warren of The Downtown (Red Bank); and Kevin Lauter from Sirena (Long Branch).

The creative libations on display included a camomile tea cocktail; Belvedere Vodka– garnished with cotton candy and Pop Rocks; and “Remember the a la Mode”, which featured Hennessy Black, homemade root beer, Averna, lemon juice and club soda,  topped with homemade cinnamon whipped cream.

Who did judges Deb Smith (Jersey Bites), Melody Kettle (Montclair Food and Wine Festival) and cocktail expert and author Warren Bobrow crown the Iron Shaker?  You have to watch the sizzle reel- produced by our production company exclusively for the event- to find out!

However, the real winner in #HipNJ’s eyes is YOU for having these great mixologists in your neighborhood!  Events like this showcase the booming cocktail and nightlife culture of our great state.

#HipNJ: Concourse for the Kids

#HipNJ is at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster for the Concourse for the Kids, a great event benefiting the Eric Trump Foundation!

Head of the event  is CEO of HudsonMOD Magazine, Jason Lembo who shares with #HipNJ that there is nothing better than to bring high end cars and the kids to have a great family day! It was a beautiful day and a lot of money was raised for a great charity!

Many people attending the event, like Michael Plante of Tiffany & Co. not only wanted to immerse in the New Jersey market, but are fond of the Eric Trump Foundation and it’s ties to St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Many well known socialites attended Concourse for the Kids from all over #HipNJ! Jonathan Cheban founder of TheDishh.com and member of the Trump National Golf Club felt it was a great day to come out and support Eric Trump’s Charity. For Nicole Napolitano of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, anything to do with children she wants to be a part of. She’s all about giving back.

Other familiar faces of #HipNJ attending the event included Vanessa DeLeon of HudsonMOD, Rino Aprea the co-owner of Angelo’s of Mullberry Street, musician Kenny Simmons, and California Closet’s Melanie Statlander. All were so excited and happy to be supporting such an amazing cause!

#HipNJ even had the pleasure of speaking with founder Eric Trump himself who shared that he is happy to be raising money for the terminally ill children of St Jude’s . These children are going through some of the worst and most life threatening illnesses and he wants to do everything he can to help. St Jude’s has the best researchers in the world and they are on the cutting edge of cancer research.

When the Eric Trump Foundation linked up with St Jude Children’s Hospital they knew right away they wanted to support them. “They are the best in the world at what they do” Eric says,  and “they do an amazing job”.

#HipNJ: Lash House, Livingston

Kelly Dillon is behind the scenes again for #HipNJ, this time at Livingston’s Lash House Beauty and Boutique!

Master Lash artist Suzette Zuena created Lash House because she had clientele who were always on the go and had no time to go to a traditional spa all day for services! She decided to make it a much easier and quick experience!

Suzette explains that the process of lash extensions involves synthetic lashes being applied to one’s own natural lashes one by one in order to create one’s own desired and customized look!

Lash House has seven certified stylists on staff, who are sure to make you look beautiful at the end of your visit! Lash House also has treatments such as makeup, facials, waxing, and even tinting and priming of lashes, which is an alternative to the synthetic lashes and lasts about 6 to 8 weeks.

The process is quick and easy. All it takes is a consultation to discover you desired look, cleaning of the lashes, and then the lashes are placed. It’s that simple!

This Lash House treatment gives you that younger, beautiful, and more awake look without the fuss! Book your consultation today! Visit www.LashHouseBeautyBoutique.com for more information!
