#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino sat with Dan and Katie Misuraca, owners of Red White & Que Smokehouse, to discuss the Southern BBQ joint.
Dan, a Marine veteran, makes sure that Red White & Que extends a helping hand to veterans. “We cater meals for vets in need and cook big BBQ bashes every month for them,” he says.
The two met when they were both working with a shoe retailer. How did they transition from shoes to barbeque? “Four or five years ago, Katie bought me a smoker for a housewarming gift,” Dan says. “It escalated into a hobby, and we decided to give it a shot,” Katie recalls.
The two had no previous restaurant experience, but quickly fell in love with the business. They have two restaurants now, and will be opening another two soon. “We’re trying to expand as quickly as we can,” Dan says.
As far as what’s on the menu, you’re in for some good old fashioned barbeque.
