The Chris Canty Foundation at Saks Fifth Avenue

Classy brands recently teamed up for a great cause at Saks Fifth Avenue at The Shops at Riverside!

Chris Canty– former New York Giant,  current member of the Baltimore Ravens, and founder of the Chris Canty Foundation– was on hand for the Giuseppe Zanotti Trunk Show and viewing of the 2014 Aston Martin Rapides.

Ten percent of all purchases from this exclusive shopping event went to benefit Chris’ charity, which is dedicated to enhancing the development of #HipNJ- metropolitan area youth through sports, mentoring, educational programs, health and fitness activities.

#HipNJ‘s Kelly Dillon spoke to Chris- who won a Super Bowl with the Giants in 2011- about all the wonderful initiatives he is a part of, which also includes breast cancer awareness and domestic violence prevention.

Kelly also chatted with Stephen Lewis, a consultant with Saks Fifth Avenue, on why #HipNJ is a great place for other athletes and celebrities to celebrate their philanthropic efforts, a sentiment that Aston Martin Summit | Short Hills‘s Allan Greenfield echoed while promoting the iconic automobile maker’s luxury vehicles!

The Giuseppe Zanotti Trunk Show is one of many fabulous shopping opportunities that Bergen County’s Saks Fifth Avenue provides for the #HipNJ shopper.  Bookmark their website to find out about their other amazing events!

Imagine yourself living in conditions where you could barely afford to keep a roof over your head, let alone have enough means to feed yourself….now imagine throwing a child into that equation.

Millions of children worldwide miss out on their childhoods as a result of poverty. All children are completely dependent on others; therefore they don’t have any viable options to escape the underprivileged life that they were born into.

Jonathan Lopez, world traveling DJ and founder of the Live.Love.Dance Organization, has created a way to help solve this issue.  By utilizing the art of music and dance, his charity appeals to the hearts of donors who want to change the lives of underprivileged children all across the world.

HipNJ’s Gina Cernielia worked the red carpet at their fundraising gala at Fiesta of Wood Ridge. During the event, she chatted with Jonathan and received some insight on how he started Live.Love.Dance.

Through his words, you can clearly tell that Lopez has always had a philanthropic mindset. His career afforded him the opportunity of traveling the globe and seeing first hand how people, especially children, all over the world suffer from the harsh effects of poverty. His passion in life is bettering the lives of impoverished children all over the world.

“All children need is a little help, a little hope, and somebody who believes in them,” explains Jonathan.   And with a little contribution, YOU can too. Too find out more information about the organization or how to donate, please visit their website.

Today could be the day that YOU change the life of an underprivileged child.

Females, Football and Philanthropy

Spa treatments, chic boutiques, makeup tutorials…this wasn’t your father’s tailgate party!

Females, Football, and Philanthropy” kicked off Super Bowl weekend in glam style. Powerhouse New Jersey women (and some men!) filled the Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, NJ to hobnob with celebrity chefs and CBS Sports Radio personalities (including the night’s emcee, Amy Lawrence, and WFAN’s Janice Kirkel), shop an exclusive silent auction, and sip on custom cocktails by Punzone Vodka. The Wellness Lounge treated guests to massages, chiropractic adjustments, ear candling, and reflexology. And what’s a tailgate party without some football?  Players from the New York Sharks, part of the Women’s Football Alliance, showed guests how to toss a football, hit a target, suit up and have lots of fun!

“Females, Football & Philanthropy” was all to benefit the American Cancer Society, and honored a courageous group of local women that won their battle against their illness.  Honorees included actress Regina Taylor; Annie Del Moro; Andrea Raynor, author and 9/11 chaplain; Nicole McGrath, DDS, founder of the KinderSmile Foundation; Pamela Pecs Citron, founder of Pendo Systems, Inc.; and Deb Belfatto, co-founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure (North Jersey Chapter).

#HipNJ’s Gina Cerniglia “Glammed up the Ultimate Party for a Cause” by interviewing some of the honorees, attendees, and founder of the event, Allison Sargent.
