Introducing the ZOE™ Bliss

By: Carissa Abraham

My favorite way to celebrate my twice-weekly skin detox is by exfoliating, so it’s no surprise that I have a ton of exfoliating cleansers. However, I’ve never actually hopped on the exfoliating brush bandwagon….until now. Introducing you to my skin’s new bestie, the ZOE™ Bliss by QYKSONIC.

ZOE™ Bliss is QYKSONIC’s latest beauty device that “cleanses, massages and applies skincare for optimum short and long-term results.” One side is used for cleansing and the other side for massaging serums and moisturizers into the skin. What is particularly unique about this product and brand is that the brush is made of antimicrobial silicone, which makes it easy to clean dirt AND there’s no dirty buildup! It has 7,500 super powerful T-Sonic pulsations per minute, so I’m sure you can only imagine the deep-clean that it gives your skin. It is also great for all skin types – my recommendation is to use it for less time on a low setting for sensitive skin until you can find what works best for you. ZOE is also gentle enough to use daily, however, I only recommend this twice per week because your skin does not require this deep of a cleanse every day.

While all of this sounds fantastic, the most important aspect of this brush is that it is a healthy way to deep clean your skin. Think about this: the beads in an exfoliating cleanser are scrubbing away dirt and buildup above and underneath the surface. As we continue to scrub, this creates micro-tears in the skin. This makes your skin more vulnerable to instant and long-term issues such as sun damage, aging, and environmental damage like pollution (just think about all of the pollution that can clog your pores). This is why I love the ZOE™ Bliss because the silicone brush is gentle enough to not cause this kind of damage – which is my number one reason to continue using it. It’s never too early to start the anti-aging routine!

#ZoeSquad QYK Tips and Tricks:

  • Using the ZOE in circular motions at the temples will relieve tension.
  • Placing the tip of the ZOE under the arch of the brow while gently pressing upward for 15 seconds will give you an immediate lift.
  • Stuffed up? No worries – place the ZOE tip at the nasal touch points on the side of your nose to help alleviate congestion.
  • The curved side of the ZOE can be used to knead and roll at the nape of the neck to decrease tension.
  • False lashes stuck? Set the ZOE to a very low pulse, add a gentle cleanser to the tip and swipe over your lash line for an easy removal!

Give Your Skin a Drink!

Taking care of your skin is important all year round, but that doesn’t mean the products used in the summer are best for your skin in the winter. As the seasons change so do your skin’s needs, and in the wintertime, hydration is key (yes, even if your skin is oily!). Fighting the irritation and dryness associated with New Jersey winters can save your skin from long term damage. I have a specific nightly routine that keeps my skin hydrated with anti-aging benefits.

Whether or not I’ve worn makeup for the day, I start by double cleansing. Double cleansing is exactly how it sounds: using two separate cleansers, one specific to makeup removal and one that gives a deeper, water-based cleanse. Lancome’s Lait Galatée Confort Cleansing Milk (Ulta, $30) is my go-to makeup removing cleanser because it’s gentle and conditions the skin using Honey and Sweet Almond Extract. As part of my second cleanse, I use Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash (Sephora, $38), which contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and natural fruit enzymes to purify the skin without stripping away natural oils.

To ensure my skin is completely clean, I use Lancome’s Tonique Confort (Ulta $30), a rehydrating toner. Not only does this remove any residual makeup, but it also contains Honey and Sweet Almond Extract to immediately rehydrate.

For an extra boost of hydration while providing myself with an anti-aging treatment, I use Kate Somerville’s Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum (Sephora, $95). This product features powerful HA³, aiding in the skin’s ability to hold water for long-lasting hydration and a plumper look. While this absorbs into my skin, I use The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG underneath and around my eye contour to help combat puffiness and dark circles. EGCG is the most powerful antioxidant found in green tea!

Just a few more steps: I love to top off my skin with Farsali’s Volcanic Elixir (Sephora, $39) for the ultimate hydrating and soothing experience. Volcanic Elixir is made with 100% pure Polynesian Tamanu Oil. Known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibiotic and antimicrobial properties, this oil regenerates skin tissue while repairing and conditioning, making it perfect for battling the effects of a cold, harsh winter.

When it comes to hydration, you can’t forget your lips. I like to use Vaseline or Laneige’s Sleeping Lip Mask (Sephora, $20) in Vanilla, both products aiding in intense hydration and restoration. My final step for this routine is jade rolling to promote circulation and lymphatic drainage, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. I run hot water over the large side of the roller (better for absorption) and cold water on the smaller side (reduces puffiness and darkness).
