rahway

Metro Rahway Food Truck Festival

The #HipNJ Street Team attended Metro Rahway’s March Madness Festival and BBQ Competition to promote Local Rahway and all it has to offer!

What originally started off as an idea for a food truck festival, transformed into a citywide event. This March Madness themed day was filled with something for everyone. From basketball games, bounce houses, face painting and a balloon artist all the way to BBQ cook-offs and a beer tent.

Food trucks and vendors filled the streets offering every kid of food imaginable. Empanadas, surf and turf, flat breads, pulled pork and smoked ribs were only a few of the mouth-watering options to choose from. Mike Peeler, a chef for BBQ Beer Buddies, shared with us his thoughts. “This is awesome! Great venue, great people, looking forward to coming back next year already.”

Hip New Jersey’s Street Team was set up with a table and giveaways. Over 100 people signed up for the chance to win hip experiences around downtown Rahway. This gave us an opportunity to meet and talk with some of our biggest fans.

Thankfully the snow from the previous day didn’t put a damper on all that was planned. Mayor Samson Steinman proclaimed, “The turnout is great but all of our events in Rahway turn out great!”
