Meet the rising star of Wayne, NJ, children’s book author, Jolie Della Valle!

#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino chatted with Jolie in none other than Long Shot Productions, LLC’s studio. Jolie is the proud author of an award winning children’s book, “Georgie and the Ants in the Pants.”

Writing an interactive children’s book is not what Jolie has always planned on doing. As an alumna of The Fashion Institute of Technology, she explains that her children’s clothing line actually led her to write the book.

“I have a children’s clothing line, and all of the outfits have ant prints on them and say “I have ants in my pants.” I want children to embrace the “ants in their pants,” which is their silliness and positive energy, so I wrote this book to drive that message home.”

Since the publication of the book, Jolie has been on tour in the Tri-state area visiting Preschools, Elementary Schools, and Libraries. She reads to the students, dances and sings with them, and performs interactive songs on her ukulele. Jolie recently visited schools in Mahwah, Wayne and Fairfield, NJ.

Cosentino Grand Opening

#HipNJ was recently at the grand opening of the Cosentino Center in Fairfield, New Jersey!

The event took place in the new state-of-the-art interactive showroom and massive warehouse. The 30,000 square foot warehouse showcased many Cosentino brands including Dekton, SenSa Granite, and Silestone Natural Quartz. Dekton is an ultra-compact surface with interior and exterior functions. The beautiful quartz and natural stone surfaces were displayed predominantly around the showroom.

My personal favorite feature of the showroom is the LED Sample Viewing Room. In this room, customers and trade professionals are able to take a sample and place it on the sample reader. This then translates it onto a large touch screen where the customer can explore the product offerings.

The visitors were encouraged to explore and engage in the surface buying experience while enjoying wine from the Michael Mondavi Family Estate and eating locally grown cuisine selections.

Special guests at the event included HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins, John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino. The cousins explained how they trust Cosentino products for all of their projects, and even have the surfaces in their own homes.

Eduardo Cosentino, the CEO of Cosentino North America, was there for the ribbon cutting ceremony, and to explain the company’s focus on international expansion, innovative research and development.

The evening finished with a beautiful aerial show on the warehouse’s overhead crane. The dancer tumbled and performed her acrobatic routine above the guests and the ultra-compact surfaces.

The successful evening proved that the family-owned business with its headquarters in Spain will solidify Cosentino’s position as the surfacing leader in New Jersey.
