Vue Magazine Launch Party

#HipNJ spent the night by the Hudson River celebrating Vue Magazine’s launch party at Waterside in North Bergen.

Founder and editor Jason Underberg calls Vue a “high-end lifestyle magazine” that caters specifically to North Jersey. In an area filled with high class, the “point of Vue” is to highlight real life aspects of luxury living and keep the entirety of the magazine as authentic as possible.

Vue strives to supply the latest news to the affluent population of North Jersey and gives exclusive insight into cars, products and everything in between. Underberg’s CEO experience at his first magazine publication, The Digest, gives great hope for a bright future of Vue.

Co-founder and director Brian Kovener says: “Bergen County is one of the most luxurious areas of the US. There wasn’t a medium to deliver that to the population until now.”

The launch of the opulent magazine was celebrated with a beautiful view, great food, and hand rolled cigars.  Sponsors that participated in the event included Dilusso Beverly Bills, Ketel One Vodka and more.

In the inaugural Spring 2016 edition, luxe women are given the latest insight into spring colors from Neimen Marcus with a $2,395 outfit. And the upscale gentlemen are catered to with a first look at the Rolls Royce Dawn.

Pick up your copy of Vue at any high end car dealership or retailer, or check it out online at VueNJ.com!

Mike and the Mad Dog Reunion at Radio City

Legendary sports talk radio hosts Mike Francesa and Chris Russo (aka “Mike and the Mad Dog“) recently teamed up for an all-star reunion at Radio City Music Hall to raise $1.1 million for the Garden of Dreams Foundation!

The Garden of Dreams Foundation works with The Madison Square Garden Company and MSG Networks Inc. to positively impact the lives of children who are facing challenges such as homelessness, extreme poverty, illness and foster care. With a mission like that, it’s no wonder why Mike and Chris (who were partners for 19 years on WFAN) chose to come back together for this special night!

New York/New Jersey’s biggest sports stars came out to support the cause, including four-time World Series champion manager, Joe Torre; two-time Super Bowl champion coach, Tom Coughlin; former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy and many, many more! #HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino chatted with some of the A-list attendees on the hall-of-fame red carpet!

New York Giants star Victor Cruz, a Paterson native who grew up listening to “Mike and the Mad Dog”, was excited to see the team back together again. “They were just so honest, so real and so inspiring. You could relate to them. They were so ingrained in this culture.”

“They were the pioneers of talk radio,” explained New York Mets fan favorite manager, Bobby Valentine. “This phenomenon of talk radio let the fans be part of the discussion.”

Mike and Chris are on record saying that the New York Rangers Stanley Cup win was their favorite sports moment (which says a lot, considering all the successes this area has had!) The face of that historic victory, Mark Messier, was shocked by that nod. “It’s incredible, especially with all the great moments in the city and all that they have been a part of.”

Mike and Chris’ style was bold and brash, but their “tell-it-like-it-is” honesty was appreciated by former New York Giant and current FOX Sports anchor, David Diehl. “It was always unbelievable to hear their discussions. Not just because they were fun but they were educated.” But more importantly for David, “It’s great for me to be able to give back to The Garden of Dreams and all these people that have given us so much as athletes in this city.”

Will Mike and Chris’ “one night only” reunion turn into a more permanenat thing? Stay tuned!

Amanda Ensing Unveils NYX Cosmetics to #HipNJ!

#HipNJ is in love with the new NYX store at Willowbrook Mall of Wayne!

This one-of-a-kind store combines the worlds of makeup and 21st century digital fun. NYX consumers can get lost at the NYX Beauty Bar, where they can choose from a number of different of-the-moment tutorials (i.e. strobing, ombre lips, etc.) and then re-create those looks using alongside their favorite beauty influencers/vloggers! Consumers can create their own custom eye makeup palettes at the NYX Shadow Bar in-store, or pick the best formula for their pout at the NYX Lip Bar.

We recently chatted with YouTube beauty expert Amanda Ensing on her go-to NYX products, her amazing rise to viral fame, and her experience opening up NYX’s first New Jersey location.

#HipNJ: What are your favorite NYX products to use?
Amanda Ensing: My favorite NYX products are the NYX HD concealer and the NYX liquid suede lipstick in soft spoken.

#HipNJ: Talk about your time unveiling the NYX Willowbrook store.
The Willowbrook store was incredible – it’s literally makeup heaven. I love the concept of the lip and eyeshadow bar because you are able to customize to you are liking.

#HipNJ: What sets NYX product apart from all the rest?
NYX is unique in that it’s always innovative in creating new episodes while staying affordable. The quality is never compromised.

#HipNJ: How did you get started doing makeup tutorials on YouTube?
I got started in my dorm room in college. I was trying to figure out how to do my makeup and wanted to document the process. I would upload a video once a week as I tried out products.

#HipNJ: How did you grow your audience?
I grew my audience by staying consistent. I provide content regularly and I think my passion shines through. I love creating looks and informing beauty lovers of hot new products.

The NYX Willowbrook opening marks the 5th opening in the US (4 in California previously); globally, NYX has opened stores in Canada, France, Italy and Spain. Additional openings are planned throughout the remainder of 2016, with stores in the Southeast and Midwest scheduled in the next few months.
