Elise Rosenstock on ElyseRyan Jewelry

#HipNJ spoke with Elise Rosenstock of ElyseRyan Jewelry about her company and its involvement in Bloomingdale’s Short Hills 50th Anniversary celebration.

Jewelry making started as a hobby for Elise while she was at home raising two daughters. After moving to Connecticut in 1999, she gradually built a business from her handmade jewelry creations of semi-precious stones, pearls and sterling silver. Her pieces became popular with women living in her area and eventually were carried by local jewelers.

“Then, stores got wind of me and wanted to know about the brand,” Rosenstock recalls. Over time, more retail outlets began to pick up Elise’s jewelry. It now appears at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and other select stores and salons throughout the country. “It was my passion, and I decided to go for it,” Rosenstock says about making the decision to launch ElyseRyan Jewelry.

Rosenstock has donated pieces to be auctioned off for a number of charitable organizations, and has created original jewelry designs to benefit specific causes she believes in, including Alex’s Lemonade Stand and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. “I have realized that when you have a piece of jewelry that tells a story, it takes on a different meaning,” she explains. “You look down and remember that you’re doing something to help others, and that piece of jewelry creates awareness.” This initiates a dialogue and connects people in supporting a cause.

The Bloomingdales’ Short Hills 50th Anniversary celebration, taking place on November 2nd from 6-8pm, will benefit Minette’s Angels, a non-profit breast cancer foundation based out of Verona. “I love that they are a grassroots organization,” Rosenstock says. “They do small things that change peoples’ lives,” citing robes given to women enduring chemotherapy. “The robes to make women feel safe and warm.”

Deb Belfatto, cofounder of Susan G. Komen North Jersey, introduced Rosenstock to Minette’s Angels. From there, Rosenstock agreed to design a pink bracelet to benefit the organization. This exclusive bracelet, along with AWAREABLES and other wristROCKS will be available at the Bloomingdale’s event.

Lucia Pitti on CandyStax by Lucia

By Kenneth Barilari

#HipNJ spoke with Lucia Pitti, creator and designer of CandyStax by Lucia, about her signature jewelry.

I was shopping at Neiman Marcus one day and came across these gorgeous colorful beaded bracelets in a glass display,” Pitti says. She checked the price tag, and could not believe how expensive they were. “I decided to look into making my own at a much more reasonable price,” she says. She did some research, formed relationships with vendors, and started creating her own pieces.

“People quickly noticed my arm candy and asked if they could buy them, so that’s how I started my little company,” Pitti says. She came up with this name because the colorful stacked gemstones reminded her of candy, “and who doesn’t love candy?”

Pitti started her company five months after her wedding. “I had dedicated so much time to meticulously planning every detail of my wedding, that when it was over, I knew I wanted to start on another creative project,” she says. She crafts every single piece by hand and makes them exclusively.

CandyStax by Lucia has just launched an online store, which Pitti is extremely excited about. She has received requests to start an online store before, but never had the motivation to actually do it. Now, the popularity of her company has grown so it was the perfect time to launch.

To celebrate the launch, customers can currently receive 15% off site-wide, ending March 19th, as well as free shipping if your order is $200 or more. “I am releasing the Spring 2017 Collection on the first day of spring, March 20th, so there will be a new promotion at that time,” Pitti says.

Prices range anywhere from $39 to $78. “I always love a good bargain, so buyers will almost never pay retail,” Pitti says.

Pitti’s current favorite item, or her current “candy-crush,” is the Rose Gold Hammered bracelet. “Rose gold has become such a big trend and it adds a pop of flair to any stack,” she says.
