Do you remember that catchy phrase we learned in grammar school? Reduce, reuse, recycle. Back then, recycling was fun. Recycling was cool. But now, as we’ve become adults, we’ve neglected this cool catch phrase.
Recycling will always be extremely important, due to its impact on the environment. When we don’t recycle items, they are disposed of and released into the air, causing pollution. Recycling not only stops pollution, but it also reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, conserves natural resources, increases economic security and saves energy.
November 15th is designated as America Recycles Day. Created by Keep America Beautiful, America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day that is dedicated to promoting recycling in the United States. This is a day where people all over participate in and celebrate the act of recycling, in an effort to create a cleaner and safer America.
What can be recycled?
Electronics (Yes, recycle that old computer!)
Today and every day we should remember to recycle these items. In order to do better, we have to be better. Now make sure you toss that water bottle in a blue bin!
