Join #HipNJ at Fashion with Compassion!

The St. Joseph’s Health Foundation is holding their third annual Fashion With Compassion to benefit The St. Joseph’s Health Children’s Hospital on April 4, 2019 at Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh, NJ!

This event is one of #HipNJ‘s favorites every spring (click here to watch our coverage from last year’s event!) Guests will enjoy an evening of sipping, shopping and mingling with fabulous foods, fine wines and a marketplace of fashion-forward vendors. During the event’s silent auction, guests will be able to bid on items worn on Real Housewives of New Jersey by cast members  Dolores Catania and Margaret Josephs. In addition, there will be dancing, a high end raffle, and more for all the fashionistas in attendance!

Fashion with Compassion co-chairs, Maryanne Puccio and Donna DeCandido, spoke to Steve Adubato about why others should join them in their support of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

“It’s a fun night to get dressed up, grab your friends and help the children at St. Joseph’s Health,” explained Donna.

“We have a whole marketplace and there is just beautiful things– from handbags to scarves to jewelry,” added Maryanne. “Our goal is to raise $200,000 for the children and families that are part of the St. Joseph’s Health family.”

A component of St. Joseph’s Health, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is a state-designated acute care specialized children’s hospital located at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, on the System’s main campus in Paterson, New Jersey. Renowned for its leading edge technology and compassionate “patients first” approach to service excellence, the Children’s Hospital provides specialized health care services designed especially for children from birth to age 21. Proceeds from the event will provide important funding to the life-saving and life-changing services for the children of St. Joseph’s Health.

José Eber Salon at St. Joseph’s Hospital

The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation has teamed with the Center for Pediatric Cancers and Blood Disorders at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson to make the mothers of pediatric cancer patients feel special!

Josè Eber Salon in Millburn donated their time to style hair, and do makeup and nails for the extraordinary mothers.

Follow-Up Counselor Ashley Marchese explained that a lot of the moms do not have the chance to get away from the hospital often, especially when their children require inpatient care. So, this day becomes a “me-day,” where the mothers have the opportunity to get pampered and relax.

Megan Balinski, hair stylist at Josè Eber Salon, said that this day is especially important to her because it hits home.  Her sister was diagnosed with cancer at the age of five. Seeing what her parents went through made her want to “give back to the mothers who are dealing with the same thing.”

Former New York Giants Super Bowl champion Chris Snee also attended this event, as the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation is close to his heart. He said that since these mothers do not have the time to go to the spa, “why not bring the spa to them?” He went on to say that this is “just another great example of what the Foundation does.”

These mothers and their children are fighting a battle that requires time and energy. “It’s hard to do anything because everything revolves around your kid,” makeover participant and mother Joanna stated.  So, this day was one for the moms. You deserve it.
