HAIR – THE AMERICAN TRIBAL LOVE MUSICAL JUNE 6 – 8

Pioneer Productions presents Hair – The American Tribal Love Musical directed by Daniel Peter Vissers. The event took place on July 6-8, and will be shown again on July 13-15 at The George Fry Center for the Arts at the Fair Lawn Community Center. The shows themes of rebellion, activism and also speaking truth to power had the audience on their feet with empowerment and pride.

Blueberry Bash

BLUEBERRY BASH JUNE 7 & 8

The Blueberry Bash festival enjoys a successful opening weekend! The event had over two acres of land for guests to pick to their own blueberries. Events for children were also available such as Tucker’s Tales Puppet Theater. In addition, tractor rides were available for people to travel the grounds and pick as many blueberries as they wanted.

This event had everything bacon that you could imagine. The event included Live Music, Craft Beer, Gourmet Food Trucks & Restaurants serving up bacon’s best, and Ice cold craft beers on tap. It also included Mini Pig Races on Saturday and Sunday,

Exit 82 Studios proudly announced the new studio venue opening in Toms River New Jersey! The brand new theater venue offered an immersive, intimate atmosphere. Doors opened on July 6th, 2018 with THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. The show had the audience full of laughter and featured one show-stopping song and dance number after another.​ Taking place in a New York City apartment, a man in a chair takes us through his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical.

2018 STATE FAIR MEADOWLANDS

2018 STATE FAIR MEADOWLANDS JUNE 29 – JULY 1

State Fair Meadowlands featured a bonanza of scrumptious food from over 50 vendors across the country. The Fairgrounds also featured heart-pounding rides and the largest Kiddy Land in N.J., as well as the area’s only Sky Ride. Fairgoers were also able to experience a wide variety of attractions from having their face painted, to posing for a cartoon caricature or discovering shopping spots including jewelry, spa relaxation, sunglasses, body art, LED apparel, clothing for all ages and much more!

The new nightclub Dear opened this weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City NJ. The entertainment that was featured had the crowd dancing nonstop, while also enjoying delicious drinks.

A 4th of July Weekend Special EventSunset Saturday hosted ‘Kirill Takes Was Over Here at The Shore” with music by PS1 and Jaetnro. The event had people on their feet all night while enjoying drinks from the bar!

SharkFest was a shark-themed family fun festival for kids and kids at heart. The event brought dozens of interesting crafts and marine life themed vendors, snacks, & live music to the Waterfront Promenade at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor Marina.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presented Emmy Award winner John Leguizamo in a live performance of his Tony-nominated hit, Latin History for Morons. The show had the crowd on their feet by the end with pure entertainment in their eyes.

Euro Ent Presented Independence Day Weekend JP Classics Pool Party! Guests were able to attend while relaxing in the pool on the hot day or mingling and drinking with people around. Entertainment was also available for people to dance around or enjoy games!

Emery Kelly, Ricky Garcia and Liam Attridge came back with their new EP, Euphoric. The new EP showcased a more mature sound and experimental beat while still honoring their signature sound.

They’ve spent the last two years selling out concerts across the country and seeing their social media profile soar. The boys continued their musical journey at iPlay America where they got to preform in front of thousands of guests.

Guests were able to go to Marine Park in Red Bank New Jersey to listen to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra! They were also able to lay out underneath the night sky and gaze at the stars. Some people even said they heard sounds from other planets!

Support Your Community This Small Business Saturday!

Thanksgiving might be over and there may be plenty of sales at plenty of chain stores around the country, but this year support your local community in the best way you can – support small business! Small businesses are the backbone of many communities, providing their unique services just for their town. If they’re lucky, word spreads and people will travel far and wide to check out their products, but at the very least the locals should support when they can! We’ve compiled a list of some great towns in New Jersey with plenty of small businesses for you to check out this Small Business Saturday!

  1. Asbury Park
    Tons of boutiques, a tree-lighting ceremony, and free live musical performances – definitely worth the trip to the boardwalk!
  2. Flemington
     Flemington’s “Big Week to Shop Small” runs through December 1 and will feature special discounts at participating businesses. A great town to spend the day in this Saturday!
  3. Haddonfield
    The streets are lined with beautiful lights beginning Friday at 6 p.m., with the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. at Library Point, not to mention shopping specials, gift certificate discounts, and horse-drawn carriage rides through Sunday. 
  4. Montclair
    Montclair has tons of great local businesses to check out for food, fashion, and way more! Click the link for a list of all participating businesses!
  5. Morristown
    Morristown is having a scavenger hunt starting at b.jones Organic Spa, where grab  a passport to unlock specials at certain businesses (salons, galleries and cafes, oh my!) Collect stamps from the shops and return to the spa for a swag bag.
  6. Somerville
    Downtown Somerville is one of the coolest places to check out on a regular day, so Small Business Saturday you definitely can’t miss! Check out the “Shop Small” stickers outside of participating store, and stick around for a visit from Santa, the tree lighting, and horse-drawn carriage rides!
  7. Ridgewood
    Ridgewood is known for some lovely jewelry and home decor local shops, and this year Small Business Saturday matches up with the sixth annual Winterfest at Memorial Park at Van Neste Square. The event feautures ice sculptures, performances by the Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus, hot chocolate, a trackless train ride and horse-drawn hayrides. 

While these are only a few towns to check out for their fun events and wonderful local businesses, if you can’t make it to any of these you can always shop around your own town. After Saturday, try shopping local more often; it makes a positive difference for your community!
