What do you do when it’s 18 degrees and you are trudging through Manhattan with 30 lbs of cargo on your back, en route to one of your major distributors? When you’re fingers are so frozen you can’t operate your cell phone? When you’re sick and tired of taking multiple modes of transportation to get to work? You go home and write your letter of resignation! Several years ago, Rutherford native Katie Roberts made the brave move to resign from her corporate job and become a momtrepeneur.

Katie Roberts

Katie left the corporate world behind and decided to follow her passion. What is her passion? Her desire is to “supply women with the tools and support they need to feel like the virtuous women they are intended to be, exposing that power to the world and in doing so, becoming a movement that shapes the world.” Such a powerful and moving statement! Her vision, and passion, where the catalyst for her to start World Momination. As a stay at home single mom (to two boys!), Katie tackles the daily challenges that come along with that in order to have a successful business. She makes it look easy, but it requires a lot of discipline and will power. Katie explained to me that she had to be very regimented in her application of time managements skills, and it was the hardest work she’s ever known. She’s reaping the rewards however, with a successful business, and by being an example to her children and other moms.

Katie has helped hundreds of women through her Bikini Model Mom challenge, Fitmergency (including yours truly, who lost 10 lbs in 10 days with this program!) and recently Juicy Bubbles. She’s also a motivational speaker, and you can catch her on her Instagram or Facebook live with her in your face real talk or tips, tricks for weight management. Her trademark “Goooooodddd morning!” and smile will put a pep in your step. Katie has taken it a step further and recently started a dating blog. There’s nothing that Katie won’t tackle, with vigor and spunk, to fulfill her life’s purpose.

Katie is an inspiration to many in that you can take big chances, work hard and make your dreams a reality. You can find out more about Katie here or check her out on her social media in case you need a kick in the pants!

Introducing The Bergen County Bible by Heather Zwain

Home is love. Home is family, friends, memories and experiences. It’s a feeling. A moment or several moments. A lifestyle. And for Heather Zwain, home has always been Bergen County.

HEATHERZWAIN.COM was created out of a desire to provide the community with access, insider tips and truthful and relatable information that they have never had before.

“You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the professionals and personalities who make this a fabulous place to live, shop, work and dine,” says Creator and Editor-in-Chief Heather Zwain, who spent the last 13 years as the Fashion Editor, Stylist and on-camera personality for Bergen County. “You’ll be in-the-know about everything, trust me.”

Zwain, 34, built her career from scratch at a local magazine and created her brand as the go-to fashion guru for Bergen. She has the expertise, knowledge, experience and connections to provide the community with the best resource guide to celebrate the county, and a little beyond from time to time.

When asked why she chose now to launch a new website, she emphatically replied, “I was unexpectedly laid off from my job and chose to turn a negative into a positive. Starting my own website feels like the natural next step in this new chapter of my life. Bergen County is filled with exciting, sophisticated and fun-loving people who want to stay current on fashion and beauty trends, remain fit and know about the people and places who make this area so wonderful to live in. They want one, convenient source to find out where to eat, play, shop and enjoy their lives. HEATHERZWAIN.COM is that source.”

As part of her purpose, Zwain strives to help others feel confident and stylish. She is a fashion veteran and celebrity interviewer who has talked style and dressed some of the biggest names in the industry including: Tim Gunn, Terron Schaefer, Stacy London, Catherine Malandrino, Stuart Weitzman, Mary J. Blige, Odell Beckham Jr., Lil Kim, Rachel Roy, Ken Downing, Yansi Fugel, Marc Bouwer, David Meister, Mark Badgley and James Mischka, Ivanka Trump, Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy, Eli Manning, Carl Banks, Derek Jeter, Curtis Grandson, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, CC and Amber Sabathia, Justin Tuck, Jeff Feagles, Tate Donovan, Daphne Oz, Johnny Damon, Emme, Kristine Johnson, Chris Wragge, Martha MacCallum, Tracy Wolfson, Lori Stokes, Geraldo and Erica Rivera, Bethenny Frankel, Giuliana Rancic, Elizabeth Gilbert, the RHONJ cast, the Jerseylicious cast, Jay Huguley, Malaak Compton-Rock, Ilya Kovalchuk, Leslie Greene, Guy Bedarida, and many more.

Zwain has enlisted the help of former colleagues and friends, whom she believes provide a wealth of knowledge of style and beauty, fitness and health, dining and entertaining and the culture and history of the county. “I want my site to really help other brands and professionals grow their personal businesses, while all coming together for one great purpose –– to celebrate the community we live in and love,” says Zwain. “There are so many amazing people in Bergen, it’s time to join forces and celebrate them.”
