Keep it casual or dress it up. Find it everywhere from the boardwalk to the catwalk. With a versatile look that spans from edgy to cozy, denim is a cultural fashion staple worth celebrating. And with only five weeks standing between us and the third annual Denim Days Festival, we can’t wait to see what amazing experiences are waiting for us on June 8 and 9 in NYC!
To give us a sneak peek, #HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino welcomes fellow host, Maria Falzo, who also serves as the Marketing Director for the New York Denim Days Festival, along with Tricia Carey, Director Global Business Development-Denim at Lenzing Fibers.
As Maria explains, ‘Denim Days’ was born six years ago in Amsterdam, and has since found additional homes in New York City and in Nashville, Tennessee. Attendees can expect a one-of-a-kind experience that goes beyond the amazing shopping.
As in past seasons, attendees will find a selection of brands, designers, artisans and vintage vendors as well as new activations and interactive installations from denim supply chain members, artists and more.
In addition to the two-day indoor extravaganza at Metropolitan Pavillion, a one-day outdoor vintage denim market on June 9 will shut down 18th Street and feature live entertainment, food and activities for the whole family.
Tencel™ branded fibers by Lenzing return as the title sponsor of New York Denim Days. Tricia explains that year’s theme is “Denim from the ground up”, a fun play on the fact that Tencel comes from recycled trees. In fact, her entire outfit in made from Tencel, even her jacket and t-shirt! This year, brands like 3×1, Garbage by Marta Goldschmied, Athleta and Triarchy will bring these recycled fibers to life.
