#HipNJ spent #SmallBusinessSaturday in Downtown Summit with Beyond Main. #HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino chatted with co-founders of the Co-Co, Lynne Pagano and Christine Gilfillan, to talk about the importance of supporting small businesses.
The Co-Co is a Collaborative Co-learning and Co-working community where you can work, learn and have fun! Their location in Summit, NJ is a great town and an awesome hub for all kinds of small businesses. They are all about inspiring, supporting, and connecting local businesses. Christine says, “This is really where the community is and we’re all about community and connection.” Their mission is to bring together the shop owners to the people who live in town.
They get all types of clientele, ranging from women looking for community, women looking for an opportunity to get back into the working world, looking to work for nonprofit organizations, to work part-time, and share co-working space. Co-Co currently has lawyers, some that work for Google, and a ton of small business owners, entrepreneurs, those on maternity leave, college students, and new graduates just starting their business.
The Co-Co works with, Beyond Main, a business that has helped enhance the community by providing access for all of the stores. It is an online marketplace that offers customers the opportunity to shop online while supporting their local stores. They make it convenient to order online and pickup, which could be the future of shopping, especially for small businesses.
The Co-Co hosts an array of events that happen every month, from networking to workshops. They are available to help with businesses, whether they are existing or you have an idea of a business. They’re there to provide any information you may need.
